Strange noises emanate from this place.
Jumper is expecting to find it empty [1], but it is not empty.
He has left here the debris of unfinished work [2]. It clogs the machinery of the mechanism that makes this room work. A company worker [5] is trying to fix it.
Jumper is presented with a choice [3] that does not seem like a choice (to the Average Mass [4]) but which distresses Jumper’s indecisive nature [7].
It is disagreeable to be here while trying to think. He leaves to find his answer [6].
[1]Jumper comes here knowing it will be a quiet place to work and think [1a].
[1a]The Reverb Room has two extremes:
1. extremely large
2. extremely small
In either case, the requirement for proper function
is that the room be empty except for the sound source.

a) to destroy his scraps (which may be important [3a] )

b) whip them finished quickly (while Average Mass hover-sits and watch-waits)

code is black and white. that’s why it’s so complicated. it needs highly specific instructions in order to be executed properly. the computer needs the world to be simplified into billions of black and white decisions.
